The "NEW" Black Point Inn

Yesterday, Jeremy and Aidan and I were out for a drive. Jeremy decided to drive down to Black Point Inn. We were interested in seeing what changes had happened since the last time we had gone down that way. Let me tell you I was not prepared!! We drove up the back driveway, just like we had done for 7 / 8 years on a daily basis and didn't know what to say to each other. All of the dorms and maintenance garage...GONE...FLATTENED! I couldn't speak, just sat there in a state of sadness. The kitchen that was built 5 years ago or so...GONE! The laundry and housekeeping area that was also built 5 or so years ago...GONE! There was a fence up that housed the new outdoor pool. SO, i got a little choked up....didn't cry, but had that crying feeling in my throat. We drove out the way we came and decided to look at the front of the Inn. The outdoor pool, the one we had known, filled in...just a mound of dirt. I don't know if that is what did it, but a single tear fell down my cheek. This place was once so beautiful, so full of life! The grounds are all tore up, not nearly as perfect as Mike and Rick once kept them. SAD, SAD, SAD! I know times change and things like this happen, but this place was such a big part of my life...Jeremy and I lived together for the first time, this is where we got to know each other and really fell in love. I had made so many friends, some I still keep in touch with, some long gone. This is where I worked my way up from little shy laundry girl to Executive Housekeeper. This is where Aidan was conceived, I know that sounds kind of silly, but so many good tings happened at this place. Don't get me wrong a ton of bad memories surround this place as well. BUT this was such a huge part of my (our) life. OK, that's all. I get it, times change, but memories will always stick with you. Thank you to all who have made the Inn so special to me!
